ConClave- a science fiction/fantasy convention in MIchigan

I just got back from MediaWest*31 con and a friend of mine has been always trying to get me to go to Conclave and Fusion (Fushion?) cons.

What is Conclave like? Costumes, dealers' rooms, etc?

I know Media is for a Star Wars group, fanzines/lots of slash and writing stuff. Small masquerade (depending on how many people enter). Lot of live action role playing..

Con suite parties, etc.

Is Conclave similar? Disimilar? Thanks!!

With ConClave only two months away, there ought to be some action starting here.

We have a literary Guest this year who should be SPECTACULAR!

S.M. Stirling just accepted our invitation for ConClave the weekend of October 8-10, 2010.

Would you like us to have an open SFOHA meeting at ConClave? If so, give us a room Sunday, our usual meeting time is 2pm, but whenever is OK, just tell us by mid September. Do you guys want us to do audio recordings of any particular panels, or do GoH interviews for you? Our next board meeting is scheduled for Sept 27th, of which a good part will be devoted to what/who is recording at ConClave.

Hi everybody I'm new to the group so I apologize if this has been asked before. I'm curious just who is in charge of getting ribbons? WHom do I speak to? I have only 24 hours to find out who! I appreciate your help and hope to see you again ConClave!

Stellations and Suites

The Return of 24 Hour ConSuite
Opening in locations near you, Friday, Oct 9nd
3 p.m.

I am pleased to announce several new and exciting things this year involving ConSuite.  First, we were lucky enough to have Blasted Bill and his famous Open Soda Dispenser.

Second, ConSuite will be hosting a 24 hour game of “Are You a Werewolf,” hosted and run by Bakemono.  Come and watch the suspense and mayhem as the tragic story of a Convention cursed with werewolves unfolds.  Registration for the game will be opening around 3 p.m. Friday in the Consuite.

As always, we will feature snacks a plenty, as well as a few meals here and there.  We encourage people not to rely on ConSuite for food, as we cannot guarantee anything with our food, other than it will be interesting.

There are rumors that a variety of mini-games, contests, riddles, and other random activities might be found somewhere near ConSuite, all leading to see who is the King or Queen of ConSuite.

We will have out beer, as well as the troll’s to keep your cup topped off, just make sure you bring a valid ID with you during Beer Hours, as you will need to present it each time you get alcohol.

I only just now found this LJ community. i'm very glad to see conclave getting more active in new internet technologies. So hey, I did up this REALLY nice map of the crown plaza because the crown's maps were HORRIBLE. If you guys would like a copy to use for your program book or what not, let me know. it's in photoshop.

Also, the new open soda dispenser and our new and improved open soda flavorings went over REALLY well and are at a competitive level of professional soda's. does conclave have any interest in having open soda in it's consuite this year? i sadly didn't see any conclave concom at penguicon this year to show off my map and dispenser.

I was wondering if anyone has any pictures from ConClave 33.  I was not able to be around and get pictures with anyone or of anyone....so if anyone has any pictures please let  me know.  Just email me at jody.harrow@gmail.com.
